To export a map, select the workspace A workspace is your personal organizer. It helps you make better decisions by providing all the information you need in one place. Each workspace holds the files you need, your appointments, contacts, tasks and daily news. You use the workspace to share documents and maps and to collaborate with your colleagues through email, discussion boards, polls, surveys and blogs. from the My Workspaces dropdown list where your map resides, then click Maps under Collections in the left menu.

Maps can be exported as a Map Viewer or as an OGC Map Service (WMS). The Map Viewer is a self-contained version of the Map Explorer that can be embedded into a web page or distributed via email using the generated link (URL). Maps can also be exported to an WMS enabling users to integrate your map data into any WMS compliant application including a desktop GIS. Prerequisites

  • You must be logged in.
  • You must be the owner of the map or the workspace administrator.

Procedure

  1. Select the folder that contains the map that you would like to export.
  2. Click the Image icon.
  3. To export your map to a map viewer, check the checkbox called Map Viewer beside Export to?.
  4. To export your map to a WMS, check the checkbox called OGC Web Map Service (WMS) beside Export to ?.
  5. Click the Image Save and Close button to commit your changes and return to the list of maps in your library.
  6. Check the Details checkbox in the toolbar to access the Map Viewer and WMS URL's.

NOTE: Exporting your map compromises the security of your layers. Layers can be downloaded via the exported Map Viewer. If your data is sensitive and/or protected be sure to only distribute the Map Viewer and/or WMS URL's to those that you trust.
