Legend Item Display Order

The order in which the legend item is drawn by the map engine is controlled by its position in the legend item list. The items will be drawn in the order that they appear in the list starting with the first item. This is particularly useful if you have overlapping features and/or symbology. Use the Image icon to move a legend item up one level. Use the Image icon to move a legend item down one level.

Using the XML Editor

The Legend Editor includes an XML editor that can be used to manually edit the legend (SLD document). To open the XML editor click on the Edit XML button. After you have made your changes click the Save and Close button to save your changes and refresh the map. The XML editor will check your XML document for proper structure (well-formedness), if not you will get an error message indicating where the structural error was found.

NOTE: Editing a legend using the XML editor should only be done by those who are intimately familiar with the SLD specification.
